How’s that cell phone working for you?

Here’s a tidbit from a powerful and sobering study done on the effects of EMFs (Electro-Magnetic Frequencies) that come from cell phones, TVs, video games, and computers.  The study in full is at www.brainsurgery.us and follow their links.

Heck I get a sore neck form using my phone, but as many of you will remember I married a Holistic Chiropractor and that is treatable.  If I see you walking around with a computer up to the side of your head then we will have to talk.  For now, I’d prioritize the cell phone as the most dangerous source of EMFs in each of our lives.

To find ways to combat the danger go to www.mybiopro.com/drmalia

Mobile Phone-Brain Tumour Public Health AdvisoryVini G. Khurana, MBBS, BSc(Med), PhD, FRACS Key messages of this work:

  • Mobile phones are convenient and frequently invaluable, yet exposure to their electromagnetic radiation is invisible. Therefore, any danger this exposure poses may be easily dismissed.
  • Exposure is long-term and its effects on the body, particularly its electrical organ, the brain, are compounded by numerous other simultaneous long-term exposures including continuous waves from radio and TV transmitter towers, cordless phone base stations, power lines, and wireless/WiFi computing devices.
  • A malignant brain tumour represents a life-ending diagnosis in the vast majority of those diagnosed. There is a significant and increasing body of evidence, to date at least 8 comprehensive clinical studies internationally and one long-term meta-analysis, for a link between mobile phone usage and certain brain tumours.
  • Taken together, the data presented below compellingly suggest that the link between mobile phones and brain tumours should no longer be regarded as a myth. Individual and class action lawsuits have been filed in the USA, and at least one has already been successfully prosecuted, regarding the cell phone-brain tumour link.
  • The “incubation time” or “latency” (i.e., the time from commencement of regular mobile phone usage to the diagnosis of a malignant solid brain tumour in a susceptible individual) may be in the order of 10-20 years. In the years 2008-2012, we will have reached the appropriate length of follow-up time to begin to definitively observe the impact of this global technology on brain tumour incidence rates.
  • There is currently enough evidence and technology available to warrant Industry and Governments alike in taking immediate steps to reduce exposure of consumers to mobile phone-related electromagnetic radiation and to make consumers clearly aware of potential dangers and how to use this technology sensibly and safely.

It is anticipated that this danger has far broader public health ramifications than asbestos and smoking, and directly concerns all of us, particularly the younger generation, including very young children.

One other way to help lessen the EMF damage is to go to your local ocean and go for a dip.  If you do, watch out for the man in the gray suit and leave your gold chains and other bling on the shore.

Seriously, do not ignore the warnings about EMFs and follow up at Dr Malia’s website.

Dr, Dr, Give me the news!

Drs, they sometimes LIKE to give us the news and, sometimes, well, you can just tell, right?

I have a quick blurb from a Dr. Paul Williams, who from my sources is a great Dr. and speaker.  When I get the whole speech, I will look at giving more info.

He said in a recent speech that there are 3 TOP causes of death in the medical community.

One.  No surprise here…..it’s Heart Disease.  See previous blogs, and for obvious reasons, I will be updating heart health info weekly.  As some of you know I am the ‘Heart Health Guy’.  There are all kinds of factors that contribute to heart disease.  Certainly some are completely in our control.

Two.  And giving the heart a run for the money, it’s…Cancer.  I know, there’s a shock.  As we find out every day, there are more and more things that contribute to cancers.

and coming in at number Three, is….drum roll please….The Medical Profession.  Yes, you read that right.  That same group of highly trained professionals, they make mistakes.  Heck, when I make a mistake, I pull out the white-out.  (I know, not on the computer screen.)  When Drs make them, it can result in the wrong limb being removed, and as we know, death is worse.

In that category would be deaths resulting from wrongly using prescriptions, and as you might guess, there is wrong diagnosing.  Now, I did not write this to bust the Drs, just to present an alternative.

As many of us get more knowledge and perhaps return to alternative medicine and preventative measures, doesn’t it follow that less trips to MDs, and hospitals, means less prescriptions and less operations.  Why not prepare the body for health, by balancing it?

Don’t throw out the Acupuncturists, the Chiropractors, the Massage Therapists just because your insurance doesn’t cover it.  There are more and more articles published each year that reflect on thousands of years of Eastern Practices as opposed to mere hunderds of years of medicine here.

I knows some MDs and certainly am aware of the hard work and dedication that they have gone through to become Drs in the first place, and then to build a practice.  I am not here to bash them.  I am particularly grateful to the Cardiologist, Dr. Frank Cummins that saved my life on the operating table about 32 months ago.

On the other hand, Drs are human and make human being-type mistakes as we see.

Just like the people that are getting sick from the poison that is shot into them called a flu shot, there are others feeling the repercussions from all the prescription meds that are out there.

I am rising up to declare.  Get fit, get healthy and stay away from the Drs!  Change your diet, cleanse your body, dump the addictions, and this one is going to hurt (me), exercise.

We see radical transformations on the TV with many people losing so much weight.  That has to become a habit, as does the other factors I have mentioned.

As the weeks go by I will talk about alternatives to stress, obesity, heart disease, and death, by bringing news and teachings that apply.

How to Have a Heart Attack in 9 Easy Steps

Yes I am qualified to train people on this.  August 21, 2008 will be the 4 year anniversary of my heart attack.

 1.  No matter what, DON’T exercise.  Relax on the couch as much as possible.  It’s exercise to type on the keyboard and surf through all those exhausting miles on the net.  Rush hour traffic in Milwaukee/Honolulu/Insert your city is burning some calories too, for sure.  Run up to work when you get there 3 minutes after 8AM, it gets the blood moving.

2.  Hold in that stress that comes from financial dealings.  In fact, make sure that you are flying by the seat of your pants all the time.  Make sure EVERY car payment and mortgage payment get in just before the penalties are assessed.  Heck, having a mortgage these days is stressful enough isn’t it?

3.  Make sure that you really raise your voice when you talk to Customer Service people and bill-collectors.  They are evil.  Some of them are in India and the Philippines.  Those people not only speak a diferent brand of English, but they may have stolen one of your friends’ jobs along the line.  They don’t like you and get a kick out of sticking it to you, because they can.  The ones in the US are easeier to get to by pushing their buttons.  Make sure you win every argument and conversation with these people.  Let them and everyone else, for that matter know what a victim you are.

4.  Always keep your plate full and when necessary, get more plates.

5.  Keep your home environment in a constant state of confusion-THAT burns calories as well.  Find people that will contribute to that chaos and get them to move in,  it helps with the mortgage payment.  Extra points if you find anyone that is a compulsive liar, compulsive hoarder, an addict or thinks he is Jesus Christ.

6.  Keep up the illusion that you are as healthy as ever.  Ignore all reasonable suggestions from well-meaning friends, especially those with healthcare backgrounds.  Always play softball on the church league so that you exhibit your athleticism to as many people as possible.

7.  Use a ton of caffeine.  It gets you going.  It is your friend.  Caffeine has other helpers, usually found in soda and Snickers.  The resulting sludge that used to be called your blood is of no concern, heck you are only in your 40s.  Drink energy drinks, they keep you going, keep you young.

8.  Diet.  Make sure that you eat plenty.  WHAT you eat is of no real concern since you take daily vitamins.  You’re a fast mover and fast food fuels your lifestyle.  Try NOT to eat fast food more than 3 times a day though, that would be overdoing it.  Eat regional foods, support local businesses.  Wisconsin Cheese-heck, put cheese on everything.  Cows, they are dairy, right?  Eat a lot of red meat.  When in Rome….Eat a lot of bratwurst, you’re German aren’t you?  Pizza is good-eat a lot, you really like to eat don’t you.  Skip fruit and vegetables, too much trouble.  If you eat too many hotdogs, stop for a while when you develop gout.  Then you can restart after it clears up.

9.  Sleep?  Sleep is a sign of weakness.  Only sleep when you have to.  Your bed is better than using your keyboard as a pillow, however.  Make that necessary sleep from 4-5 hours tops.  (That way you have more time to enjoy your wonderful life.)  Make sure when you do pop out of bed, you hit the ground running.

How’s your drinking water?

Here is an interesting article I just received, AP published.  Good reason to drink Dr. Miller’s Holy Tea!

Call me at 808 371-6501 for information about the tea, which will detox your body to remove harmful substances.

Think You’re Drug-Free? You’re NOT!

March 10th, 2008

Did you know that every time you take a drink of tap water, you’re taking drugs? And I’m not just talking about flouride here. Anticonvulsants, antidepressants, antiobiotics…and that’s just a few of the As!!

The AP just published an article about pharmaceuticals found in municipal water supplies. Not just floating around in the reservoirs, but in the actual water you’re drinking, cooking with, and bathing in. And every time you connect with that water, you’re taking in low levels of drugs. Which drugs and how many – well, no one is being directly forthcoming about that. But count on this: It’s a lot of different drugs, and more than you should be getting.

This is some seriously scary stuff – alarming, really. And it’s worse than it sounds, because not every municipality tested their water for drugs. And the ones that did, well only the drugs they’ve specifically tested for will be reported. Some water supplies contained dozens of different trace pharmaceuticals – Philadelphia, for example, turned up 56 different drugs in their drinking water. 56!

Yes, this is scary, and overwhelming. But it does have its funny moments, as reported in the AP article. Here are a few of my favorite lines:

Arlington, Texas, acknowledged that traces of a pharmaceutical were detected in its drinking water but cited post-9/11 security concerns in refusing to identify the drug. [O]fficials in Emporia, Kan. refused to answer AP’s questions, also citing post-9/11 issues.
(Right…because Arlington, TX and Emporia, KS are known terrorist target cities, and not disclosing drug findings protects their citizens from…what exactly? )

Water sampled downstream of a Nebraska feedlot had steroid levels four times as high as the water taken upstream. Male fathead minnows living in that downstream area had low testosterone levels and small heads.

Ask the pharmaceutical industry whether the contamination of water supplies is a problem, and officials will tell you no. “Based on what we now know, I would say we find there’s little or no risk from pharmaceuticals in the environment to human health,” said microbiologist Thomas White, a consultant for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.

“It could be that the fish are just exquisitely sensitive because of their physiology or something. ”

Confidence about human safety is based largely on studies that poison lab animals with much higher amounts.

“I think it’s a shame that so much money is going into monitoring to figure out if these things are out there, and so little is being spent on human health,” said Snyder.

Excuse me, but how is this issue not related to human health? We’re prescribed too many drugs. Those drugs end up hitting us a second time through the water supply – along with dozens of other drugs. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria are breeding like never before. And the paltry amount of money governments are spending to find out if our most basic need is safe – that’s not critical human health spending? Now I’m really afraid.

Big Island (Hawaii) Pt 2/Return from Big Island

No we weren’t hypnotized, no Dragonfly Ranch, and we didn’t fly over the stinking volcano either….

We just got back from our visit to the Big Island, and we DID get some things done. It was a kind of a second honeymoon, and we did the things that honeymooners do.  We also stayed in a villa in the Hilton Waikoloa area, and we liked the place so much we bought it!  Fractionally, of course.

For those that don’t care about that part here are some of the more interesting parts.

The vog (volcanic fog) was out and for that reason and just the time factor, we did not venture over to the places we wanted to see near the volcano.  It obscured the views we would normally have.

We strolled around the Hilton Waikoloa grounds and talked to the dolphin trainer on duty.  They just had a calf (the dolphins did) and the trainers were taking turns pulling the night-watch shift.  Of course on the grounds you will see a rhinocerous and horses and a Buddha-all statues.  In the parking lots there are a lot of cats, presumably waiting for handouts.

As is common in Hawaii we saw a mongoose, and then, up north we saw, and interacted with, some horses, the real live kind.  Then, down south we saw a zebra, yeah really brah, and two longhorn steer.  They looked contented, obviously all out of their ‘normal’ territories.  It was so unusual for me, that I was walking around trying to get better camera angles, and even somehow thinking they could have been fakes.  I mean some old hippie artist could have had a field day painting the stripes on that horse to make him a zebra.  I’m pretty sure that it WAS real, (he had zebra ears) and I will have the picture to show it-soon.

Also, as we ventured down a steep incline toward a marina, and then  headed back, we ran into a family of turkeys that really had no intention of sharing their road with our rental car.  I did NOT actually ‘run into them.’

The real excitement was, as we crammed too many activities into the last day was that we almost ran out of gas.  Some places had gas pumps as we headed south out of Kona, and after a while, I realized that the gas pumps were no more.  In fact houses for the most part, were no more.  Off to the left was lava, and off to the right was a sometimes very steep decline to the Pacific Ocean.

Well we slowed a little, coasted some down hills, turned of the air conditioner and prayed.  My wife was a little stressed, and I went through all the possibilities in my head should we have to coast to a stop amidst the moon-like terrain.  They all involved hitch-hiking and missing our flight home.

Then we saw it!  The last gas station for another 8 miles, at least.  We refuled, bought some Pringles, and turned around, admitting defeat to our plan to make it to South Point, the apropriately named southern most point in the US.  For those of you who are thinking Key West, that’s the continental US.

We headed back and stopped briefly for some Kona coffee, and some Key Lime pie.  How could you not?  The bonus there was the beautiful view (even with the vog) of Kealakekua Bay.  We were in a wooden structure teetering over the cliff.  Please remind me not to be THERE when the next earthquake hits.

All in all a great trip.  I will talk about some of the natural wonders next blog…..rick

Zrii Questions and my sales letter

This letter was sent to answer questions raised by someone I contacted about Zrii today….

Aloha,

My wife Dr. Malia says that Zrii absolutely will help those with Chronic Fatique.  She is not trying to diagnose you here, or any one particular person without meeting them BUT….Zrii has adaptagen qualities to be able to handle stress.  As you know and I just learned, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia and other auto-immune conditions where the body attacks itself cause adrenal exhaustion.

Of course, those conditions when not cared for can lead to Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, severe allergies, Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Cancers.  People that don’t reduce stress (Zrii specifically helps that), exercise, and/or sleep enough will find further complications like those I listed.

Stress that I had 4 years ago, along with a terrible diet, and lack of exercise led me to have a heart attack.  My body was in fight-or-flight mode all the time, and even when I laid down to ‘rest’ my sleep wasn’t that good, or long enough.  I am NOT a Dr, but I have this experience to share from.  We have used Zrii almost daily since August and we feel more energy, lower stress, better endurance for workouts, and better sleep quality.  Others have suggested their their pain from arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, and fibromaylgia have been eased or eliminated.  There is a natural anti-inflamatory quality from the ingredients in the drink.  Neither my wife nor I work FOR Zrii nor have we cleared these statements with the Drs at Zrii.  We DO know one of them, Dr. Suhas, and we highly recommend that you check with the SAB (Science Advisory Board) calls on the site to find out more.

Dead Grandma Stinkeye

There’s a lady that says that many of our problems are due to the past issues with our ancestors….Now usually I would then put up my right hand and say whatever, but I could see that she was sincere, believing what she was saying.  Many problems, she thought involved our dead grandparents, for example and they continured to desire to connect with us from the grave.  Of course too, she could facilitate that.

That’s where I jumped off the bus.

But knowing all that, and wondering how much of me, and my life would my dead grandma approve of, I started thinking.  I mean we have approval or lack of, from our peers, our co-workers, our loved ones.  Do we seek approval from our spouses and main influencers?  God approves or disapproves of our lives, and his word (Bible)certainly spells out judgment on behaviors and our hearts.

We can pick up the Bible and read how great men in history; David, Solomon, Paul,   and yep, Jesus were in real life.  We choose, whether consciously or not, to emulate them (hopefully not all their actions) or not.  I know we have heard WWJD. What would Jesus do.  Sometimes think that, but that’s not easy to apply in EVERY situation.

What if, in situations where we are pondering which move to make, we could get an immediate reaction from Jesus, or a text message, maybe.  Or, just a stinkeye from Grandma, or even that angelic smile which I guess would be an indication of approval.  That would be cool.

Some of you may not understand stinkeye.  It seems to be ingrained in Hawaiian culture and lingo.  Famous stinkeyes;  John Belushi in Animal House.  (Although his was that mischevious varietey that told us that some really good parts of the movie were upcoming.)  The Rock does a mean stinkeye.  Once that stinkeye comes out, you’d better drop that folding chair and move away quickly.  Or you’re going to get it.

My dad did a few stinkeyes in my past.  I knew I was in trouble when the stinkeye came out.

My wife informs me that I roll out a stinkeye every one in a while.

There’s a wonderful short film “Fishbowl” done by a Hawaiian lady who died before it was even released.  It uses stinkeye in the context of kids at school and in their social development.  It’s cute, and funny as the characters deal with acceptance and lack of acceptance in their grade school experience.  It lets you peek into the world of ‘country’ Hawaiians and the language too.  I highly recommend it if you can find it.

But stinkeye as a sort of guide for life?  I don’t know.  I mean, I can’t even picture either of my dead grandmas giving me stinkeye.

Big Island (Hawaii) Pt.1/Hypnotized by lesbians

My wife and I were planning our trip to the Big Island and we went over the options.  We could just be lazy, and really enjoy the many pools, and places to discover on the grounds of our resort.

We could go over and take a look at an active volcano,    ah  no thanks, I’ll pass.

We could go on a snorkel cruise and even maybe see some whales at the very tail end of the season.

I could take enough work to keep me busy the whole time and just ‘put in my time with my wife.’

How about a flight in a little airplane over the active volcano……I don’t really think so.

I heard about a place called Dragonfly Ranch.  Now that’s a name.  The head dragonfly lady is not going be there, but her assistant will be.  His name is Phoenix.  Of course it is!  I wonder if he is the dragongfly herder,   or trainer.

What about the lesbians?  (I am NOT a really big fan of lesbians, but then again, I don’t give them much thought.)  I guess they own a little place that makes some pretty awesome natural smoothies.  I hear that they tag-team hypnotize you, and convince you that their awesome drink can actually cure everything from migraines to male-pattern baldness.  I don’t have either, but they don’t really scare me, now that I think about the whole idea.

I want to see my buddy, but it’s a long way from our resort…..Really I intend  to relax and unwind, and study my Bible with my wife, a little spiritual retreat.  And I am going to do exactly that,        after that smoothie.
