The 4th of July

It’s here, and as usual I don’t care.  I am about as patriotic as the next person, but isn’t Memorial Day for that?

My wife (Dr. Malia) and I are chillin’ like villians and I could use a day off, but we really are hoping that there are some stores open when we go to run errands.  It has been a good year.  I guess this is the half way point isn’t it?

I have so much to be grateful for.  I live in Hawaii.  I now have a fantastic job.  I am slowly getting used to the fact that I now work 40 hours at an office rather than from home.  Give me a little more time on that.  The job will really reward me for the skills I have been developing over the years and I am a bit surprised still that it all came about.

I am in sales at Your EZ to Use Island Pages, an independent directory here in Hawaii.  We are part of a huge company, Ogden Directories that runs many newspapers and telephone directories and even owns the Pittsburgh Pirates.  (I know, I know, I wouldn’t brag TOO much about the Pirates’ season, but it’s a small fraternity of people that are Major League Baseball team owners.)   Who do ya know that needs Yellow Pages advertising?

I have my Zrii business, and I am ratcheting it down just a bit.  My wife and I are healthier because of this tremendous liquid nutritional and I get a check.  I will still make calls but the bulk of my non 40 hour work time THIS weekend is aimed at my new job.

Zrii = http://www.rickemmerich.myzrii.com

My Holy Tea business is chugging along.  I am in profit and I have lost 20 lbs since last Christmas.  People are getting healthier becasue of it.  That’s a win-win, so adding in a bit of profit is gravy.  www.holyteaclub/rickemmerich

I have a new business that I feel is going to be a very timely operation.  Xziex makes water from the air, or atmosphere.  Just think about that for a minute.

Anyone who lives in an area that has problems producing water from their aquifers, or wonders about its quality, read on.  Anyone who is concerned about the health hazards that come from posioned water, or who is concerned about terrorists targeting our water, pay attention.  If you think that we put FAR too many plastic bottles from the bottled water we drink into the landfills, this may be for you.  If you question the quality of tap water that is ‘purified’ by bottlers, like I do….check this out.  (I think I covered everyone there.)

Xziex = www.rickemmerich.myxziex.com

Thank God I am writing this today.  My life took a left turn about 4 years ago and in 6 weeks I will celebrate the 4 year anniversay of my heart attack.  Yes you read that correctly.  Thank God I had a heart attack.  You can read more about it at this blog site.  http://rickemmerich.com   I will be a part of a book that we expect to publish early next year.  It is Thank God I Had A Heart Attack.   Right now the first book of the series is out.   Thank God I…   To pick up a copy, go to http://thankgodi.com/?idAff=4

The real reason that I am NOT that excited today is that I am not a huge fan of fireworks-never have been.  My wife and I have two cats.  They like them even less.  So we may have to bundle them up and head to her office where they will not have to hear the noises that remind us all of ‘the bombs bursting in air.’  What good did those bombs bursting in air do anyway?

Jet Blue, I Love You PT 3, The Return Trip and final thoughts

I love these guys.  I really had thought they were a side show.  Not the big lumbering elephants parading around the ring (American) or the fierce tigers (Continental), but the clowns on their unicycles in the big circus.  That was fun, wasn’t it?

Then I flew the brand new Jet Blue plane.  Pilots Jeff and Lance, (one of them looked like a daytime soap actor, the other, not really) flew the A320 I believe, masterfully into SLC.

I then had a rollicking 4 days at the Zrii Launch convention, and came back to the airport for what I figured would be a quiet and relaxing flight back to Long Beach.  On the last day, I had found a check that I turned in.  The people were so glad that they gave me a hand made bust of Jesus, or Joseph Smith.  Since I am a Christian, I have named him JC.

But what was important at that moment was me trying to cram JC (bless his heart) into my luggage to get onto the plane.  The very nice people at the uncrowded ticketing area were very patient and understanding.  They allowed me to check my attache case.  That at least delayed the problem that I would have getting onto the other carrier’s flight at LAX, the next day.  I won’t mention names, but let’s call THEM Water Buffalo.

As I got on the plane I was met with enthusiastic smiles and more of the great attitude I now expect on Jet Blue.

I settled in and got a window seat.  That would prove somewhat profitable as I got some mountain shots on my camera out the window.  It’s a shame to be in a place for 4 1/2 days and not even get a decent look at the Wasatch Mountain Range.  Heck I wouldn’t even know THAT name if I hadn’t been there before.  You know what I mean don’t you, business travelers?

It was an uneventful trip back (which on airlines is good).  Did I mention the great Customer Service and the smiling crew members?  As we deplaned, I slipped through the tiny airport quickly, grabbed my case and waited for my ride.

I would not say that there is a new sheriff in town necessarily, but Jet Blue has zoomed to the top of my short-hop choices.  They assured me that those planes could NOT hold enough fuel to take us over the big pond to our rock in the middle of the Pacific.

That’s too bad.  Some of THOSE endangered species are now extinct.  Since I got hung up on the animals, I will proclaim the Jet Blue JAGUAR of the airline animals.  (Thanks for getting me to Hawaii, water buffalo.)

Zrii, for Health, Wealth and Happiness

Leaving SLC on JetBlueAs I taxied toward takeoff on my new favorite airline Jet Blue, I reflected on the previous 4 days.  Zrii was launched!  I had gotten a high concentration of my favorite product, frequently double-dipping at the Zrii Bar.  I hung out with my upline, and talked to one of the highest paid IEs in the company. I took a lot of notes on techniques, strategies, dreams and visions.  I met famous BBall player Thurl Bailey and got his autograph.  I sponsored a guy in the hot tub at the Hilton-still waiting for him to actually follow through. I found a check on the sidewalk which I returned (of course.)  The couple was so happy that they gave me a bronze staue that the husband had created.  Being in Salt Lake City (SLC) I wasn’t sure if it was Joseph Smith (mormon dude) or Jesus.  I was hoping it was Jesus but leaning towards the other guy.  I have proclaimed him JESUS. I watched Bill Farley so eloquently announce our start and then pour out his thoughts.  I know Deepak Chopra thrilled the crowd and Thurl Bailey and Chris Gardner (Pursuit of Happyness) spoke so well also.  Many others, including Jason Domingo, our master distributor gave out nuggets of wisdom too. Anyway, with all of the new materials and sales aids and theories, and with the celebrities behind us, I look so forward to continuing to build this-Look Out.  Zrii is SO ready to hit unheard of goals for a company starting out.  The Pre Launch phase worked out all the kinks very early on, and now we are at full gallop.   I see so much integrity in the management. So, what’s next.  Well more of the same-many phone calls, some in-person (belly to belly) presentations and more people that have dreams like I do finding ways through this company to acheive them.  Join us!    55078-R1-20-21_021

Jet Blue, I Love You, Part 1

The deal was almost too good to be true.  JET BLUE, going into Salt Lake City, exactly where I wanted to go.  At a very reasonable price.  What was the catch.  Well, there happened to be two.  First of all, I had ten days in which to make the purchase and I wasn’t sure were the money was coming from.  Second, it was going out of Long Beach CA.  It did not seem right. I kept the ticket in mind and made some other plans for the trip as the day quickly approached.  The day before I had a tiff, (a tiff is a term for a fight, but not a big one), with my wife.  I could tell she was not completely on board with my decision to go to Salt Lake City for the first annual convention of our network marketing company, Zrii. She would not help by buying the ticket for me, and eventually I called my old buddy Paul.  Paul was my business associate and had stood up in my wedding 3 years ago.  We were going to convention and we were rooming together. So he had an interest in helping me.  In that trusting and loving way he agreed, and charged the ticket for me.  What a guy. Now, about the Long Beach detail.  What kind of rinkydink parking lot looking small airport was this?  Was this a hidden gem someohow forgotten from the 50s and even WW II?  Who went to it anyway? As my awesome friend Lance quickly frove me from Huntington Beach to the airport, I noticed that it was a big parking lot, that was not properly marked with signs.  Maybe a secret place that only locals knew.  As he pulled right up to the only possible place to unload, all you-know-what broke loose. WWIII was led by one, not so bad looking male cop with a mustache, and a morbidly obese Rambo wannnabe who started to waddle over to me with an angry look on his face.  We moved, darnit, and I had to walk a ways back with my stuff.  Well as things returned to normal, and the security threat was lifted, I focused on the building. I left them dreaming of their next artery-clogging dozen crullers, I navigated the checkin process to perfection.  The smiling Jet Blue employee not only helped me very efficiently, she pushed others through (with check in luggage).  People like this are solid gold, all companies need them. It was small,  like a barracks.  It was one level, and I guess around 4 gates.  CUTE.  And what a cutie ahead of me.  A young mother was training her tiny child to be ‘big girl’ right in front of me.  The experiment was working, and this little doll was imitating her mommy at every opportunity.  Mind you, somtimes these exercises go terribly wrong.  I’m usually the one behind something like this, but for once it was refreshing…. I started to hear the announcements for the Jet Blue flights and lots of light-hearted comments were tossed around, making me smile.  I could see the attitudes of almost all of the fliers.  They were upbeat.  In fact these were very attractive people, who probably all had shopped at Irvine Spectrum or were holdovers from Sharper Image.  They looked like actors, I expected a movie set to be unveiled at any minute.  And themn the announcement.  This was the innaugural flight to Seattle from the cute little airport and "would you like a piece of cake?"  Now I know that I was going to SLC, not Seattle but I felt that I totally could have a piece.  But no.  I’m watching  my girlish figure.  I had discovered where the roly poly fat cop got HIS figure-the free cake parties. What a deal, a party at the airport.  Usually the scene of uptight  TSA types and tense passengers that left 20 minutes too late from their home.  I liked it.  I started out toward my flight. See Part 2,   soon.

Thank God I had a heart attack Pt. 3/What has changed.

Now, what has changed, and why am I grateful?

I was grateful that I came out of the procedure without too much damage, heck I was breathing.
I’m grateful that so many of my bros and sisters in Christ saw fit to visit me. My mom, and two of my sisters made the drive up from Chicago (to Milwaukee).

I took another look at my life, and eliminated most if not all of the stress. Eventually people stepped up big time to help reassemble my poor condo.

Less than one year after the visit to the hospital I married the most wonderful perfect woman for me. And she is a Holistic Chiropractor. I live in Hawaii. God has been very very good to me.

The changes I made right after I got back home from the hospital included adding fruits and vegetables and cutting out the red meat for the most part.

Then Dr. Malia and I met in person. The moment I saw her at LAX, I said “She’s the one for me!” She said to herself “He’s OK.”

She gave much more advice about nutrition and gave me adjustments. She also introduced me to NET,(Neural Emotional Technique.) I felt more love and encouragement the more we got to know each other. We are a great match.

I work at home (do you call this work?) so most of the frustrations from a job are gone.

The beauty, the skies, the beaches the air so wonderful, the trade winds, the temperature here in Hawaii obviously blows away the gray, too cold or too hot, rush hour traffic life in Milwaukee. I know there are good things there too, of course.

I want to share my life, my knowledge of health, my wife’s knowledge and advice. I want to help those I can. I know the Bible a little and find that that is a major help in my life. I am willing to share that too. (I don’t think God let me live to just kick back and watch ESPN.)

Sharing YOUR story will be refreshing and will help others. You definitely CAN become a part of a published book, Thank God I had a heart attack. (If that is your passion.)

We will get some audios, some videos and some pictures of other survivors. The top pic is me and my lovely bride, Dr. Malia walking down the aisle. I guess you will see others.

I have lost 20 pounds with the help of some herbal tea, and I can share that with all of you. The Holy Tea can be found on my blog.

I use a health formula, a liquid nutritional, called Zrii and that has really impacted my health.
Go to http://www.rickemmerich.myzrii.com for details.

I’m starting Yoga and can’t wait to get back into a workout routine. It’s been a while.

We have some new technology that will really impact people and their sleep and energy.  Go to http://www.squidoo.com/wishforlove

Please write your heart attack survivor story and share pics at http://www.squidoo.com/ThankGodIhadaheartattack.

Malia and I believe that God kept me around for a reason, and my relationship with Him is so important.  If that is a need or desire of yours as well, we’d love to share more how He has impacted our lives.

Those more interested in Chiropractic and Dr. Malia (not TOO interested guys) can go to  http://honoluluchiropracor.net to find out more

I love you all, my wife Dr.Malia and I are very grateful for our lives… hope you all are as well.

I don’t want your stinkin’ flu shot!

It’s always the prettiest, most smiling young lady in the Pharmacy.  She cranks up the friendly smile to an 11 and asks THE question:  “Would you like your flu shot today?”  She maintains the level 11 even as I say no with a look of horror on my face.  It moves to a level 10 as I comment  “Please don’t poison me.”  She keeps smilin’ and simply looks for her next victim.

It’s really hard to find fault with the new Safeway.  They have raised the bar for groceries in Honolulu.  Heck, this would raise the bar in Laguna Beach.  It’s full of class, and cool departments….probably 200 kinds of cheese.  But then there’s the flu-shot lady.

See, we were brought up to TRUST the MD, the Family Doc.  We did what we were told.  Now many of us in the baby boomer department are finding that our parents are in nursing homes totally dependent on multiple prescriptions.  Some of those pills are there simply to ward off the bad effects of the other pills.  I mean the big Pharmaceutical Companies have larger budgets than some European Countries.

People that push these pills to the Drs get paid an awful lot.  I know a lady that got fed up and walked away from her (high) salary with a Pharmaceutical giant cuz they insisted she ‘push’ one day ritalin pills for kids.

Anyway, where was I.  Yeah, when the ‘experts’ tell us that we shold have a flu shot, some of us say “OK, which arm” or is it the shoulder?

Blindly we allow them to put Thimerosal carrying along with it a host of heavy metals into our system.  And btw, the flu virus itself.

My 85 year old friend.  Stop right there.  Anyone that has made it to 85, living healthy, with genes of the men that hit a hundred before him.  Who still drives, works, manages people and makes a lot of money.  I’m gonna pull up a chair and listen to what THAT guy has to say about health.

He, who btw has raised at least 6 children that are Drs, was ‘tricked’ into taking a flu shot this fall.  The Dr was not honest with him, and before my friend knew it, the Dr was about to stick him.  He sighed and said, OK, but really did not like the whole scenario.

Well, guess what.  As he had the previous 2 times when he got a shot, HE GOT THE FLU.

Anyway, we need to be more healthy.  There are so many alternative health options today.  I went to my Acupuncturist today and left feeling great.  My Integrative Medicine Dr almost refuses to offer a prescription.  There are so many other ways.

My wife, (Dr. Malia) a Holisitic Chiropractor has opened my eyes to so much more where the body heals itself.  She has made it (Real) clear how my past diet had led to my past health issues.

I don’t use caffeine anymore, watch the sugar, salt, red meat and anything with preservatives.  (Want to know where THEY come from?)  For years I have used vitamins, now I use the BEST, along with other recommended supplements.  Each day I drink Zrii, a tonic based on 5000 years of Ayurvedic Medicine.  It is endorsed by the Chopra Center for Well-Being.

Dr. Deepak Chopra says in his new book  “The scientific community has shifted from outright rejection and ridicule of alternative healing approaches to serious investigation.  If you access the National Library of Medicine’s database, you will find over forty thousand articles on alternative and complementary medicine with over sixteen hundred on herbal medicines alone.  Meditation, yoga, massage, and nutritional approaches are increasingly embraced as maionstream tools for healing……Almost every pharmacy in America (is) carrying its own line of natural medicines.”  Read the book Perfect Health, now.  You will see why it is a best seller.

Anyway, I gotta go to the Safeway and get some natural apple juice for my wife.  Her gall bladder is acting up.  (No flu-shot lady at THIS time of night.)

baby wants to jetski

baby wants to jetski       She MAY actually want A jetski.  She mentions it, under her breath sometimes, then out loud during certain moods.  She has this picture.  When she was about 15, they had jetskis (two of them) lined up outside the house.  As you may have figured out, they lived on the water…….in Hawaii.

She has expensive dreams.  But that’s good.  Got to have a why.  You want to know the other one?

Baby wants a BMW 3 series.  Red, with a little blueish in it.  Or Metallic Gray, or Silver.  (Not purple, not maroon.)  I want her to have one.  I could see myself in a new car, but I don’t have a clear picture yet.  No car for Ricky!  She can’t either until she gets this color thing right.

I don’t think you can really start a journey and have a plan, if you don’t know where you are going.  We are going to the jetski store…in the future.  I can see us on the darn things.  Bouncing as we catch the waves.  Catching air.    THAT’S how I roll.

Salt water spraying, in our eyes, gettting some sun.

I just kinda sneak into her dreams, because I can.

Otherwise the long hours working at home can be tedious.  The turn downs, the idiots, the wrong numbers on the phone seem like a weight on my shoulders with no reason to continue on.  Her years at Dr. school were rough, except for when she saw that carrot just ahead of her.

Baby likes to travel.  She’s no Motel 6, Super 8, or Zinger Motel kind of lady.  We pay someone to watch the cats, and THAT’S not a bad gig.  We’ve been in the seats of the front of the plane, and we never want to go back.

Baby likes the restaurant leaning over the cliff, rather than the steakhouse chain, or the cafeteria style place.  She deserves it, she’s a Dr.  I deserve it, I’m with her.

She sends fruit baskets for Christmas (not fruitcakes), she always gives good gifts.

Baby pays some of my bills as I move towards my financial goals (which are hers as well).  Lost a couple of the women there, did’nt I?

I see us at the Chopra Center for Well-Being, side by side, getting treatments with oils, getting massaged and loving life.  She’s really led me to great health.  I rub her feet like no one else can.  And btw, no one else can.

We’ll be there, in a convertible, cruising up Highway 1 towards San Francisco, from Pismo Beach.  You either know what I am talking about, or you need to get out more.  I mean c’mon, put us in a Visa commercial or something!

The old Rick used phrases like “I can’t afford that” “Wish I could go there   :( “  “When I get outta debt, I’ll…..”(fill in the blank)  “Someday I’ll”

YOU NEVER GET TO SOMEDAY I’LL.  Your ship does not JUST come in.  That’s like expecting to win the lottery but not purchasing a ticket.  Not going to work.

To get somewhere, you HAVE to see it, see yourself there, kick the tires, take it for a spin, make an offer, have a plan, pretend, act as if you’re already there.  Some put the pics up in the office, bathroom etc.

You also have to believe that you are worthy, deserving, and see yourself in possession, earning it, etc.  You have to earn enough money to buy it, lease it, maybe even rent it.

For a good 14 years I had a governor on my financial go-cart.  Remember the go-carts you get in and race against your friends.  Who won?  Assuming you all floored it the whole way, probably the one that happened to be in the front row.  Because of the governors.

Or would you prefer ceiling.

Can’t get over that.  Like a long time employee trading his/her hours for dollars, at the top of the pay scale.  Now THAT’S a motivated worker…….NOT.

I’m not a good employee for someone else.  Any of you employers that took a wrong turn on the way to see your Careerbuilder post for employees…..keep walking and don’t look back.

You won’t get your dreams and goals working for someone else.  Well maybe, but I bet you adjusted down those lofty goals when reality hit you, somewhere through the years.

So what do you do?

Assuming you are NOT the next Beckham (who?) or Peyton Manning, or Prince Fielder, or Tiger Woods….And if you aren’t threatening Carrie Underwood or Beyonce, or Bruce Springsteen for performing excellence…….

For ‘normal’ people like me, Network Marketing, home-based business, perhaps internet marketing, all seem to be the best hope.  That is, to make the big bucks, get free(r) with your time, and hit those big goals.

Get that clear picture of a Why, a plan to acheive it, find a GREAT company, and you could be off to the races.  Let me help you with some suggestions…….    ( ZRII)

one of those days……

Wow, a banner day, right up there with the birth of a child, (whatever that’s like.)  or….winning something,  or maybe my wedding day.  I’ll actually elaborate on the wonders of the relationship I have with my wife soon, so stay tuned.

But today, started well, rose to a great peak, and then kinda stayed there for about 3 hours or even more.  Picture Jack Nicholson saying “Yes!”, with that little fist pump he does.  Or one of those Toyota commercials where they do the jump and kick.  I don’t even want to go to bed, so here I am.  I have to blog late, late, so it does NOT take away from ‘legitimate’ prime work time.  If the word gets out, you guys might even expect more regular stuff, so then I’ll really have to plan, or something.

I looked forward to today, and I pictured what would go on.  I pre-paved, by ’seeing’ what would go on, and it happened.  Revolutionary?  I think not.  Read the Law of Attraction, by Esther and Jerry Hicks, and please DO get back to me.

My ship is coming in, I can actually see it cruising around Diamond Head, past the lighthouse, on it’s slow way through the scenic coast area.  This is fun.  I see all my friends, the good ones, not the fake ones (that really don’t wish me well.)  They are on the deck, waving, cheering, genuinely thrilled and cheering me on….OK where was I?

Yeah, such a day.  I am a home-based biz guy.  I get to work in my shorts, no shoes.  I don’t have to shave.  You guys likin’ that image, OK I’ll stop.  But last night-LATE I did send my buddy in Florida an email.  It was the last email in a series pointing out the good features of being in biz with me.  He’s a natural.  I knew it, but you know, you can’t really want it for someone else.

You certainly can’t do it for them.  I made some bold promise, and reminded him of all the great things that I was so grateful for, about him.  You could say I owed him, for all he had done.  And I DID say that.  This business would be my way of paying him back for all that he had done.  I laid it on a bit thick, but really, it was from the heart.

Then I thought, he may ignore this altogether, but I gave it a shot.  And like a walk-away deal at a rummage sale, I was committed to not look back after this correspondence.  The walk-away deal, done properly, should get you a cheap price on the item you want , I don’t know, perhaps 67% of the time.  You pick up the item, or lovingly walk around it, or stare at it for a while.  Then you announce to the person in charge “I’ll give you _____. which is about half of what the price is.”  You CAN start walking way, or drift a bit even before you get an answer, but the main thing is to be walking away if you get a no.  You CAN’T stop, or even look back.  You are committed.

Many times the person, says, “hey, come back” and you get your deal.  Once in a while the guy/gal does not and you have to live with it.  (File that one away for Saturday when you are driving around town.)

Like I said this guy is a natural, and I left the email very late our time, which was probably about the time he was getting up on the other side of the country.  I felt that I had given it the best shot, and I went to bed, feeling kinda neutral, not being overly desirous.  I wanted him to accept, but fretting over it, or any kind of anxiety shows a lack, or a need.  That ain’t good.

Well, it looks like I’m milking this, so I will get right to it.

When I got up, there was both a phone message and an email from my buddy.  He saw the light, or at least would throw his hat into the ring.  Woohoo!

As we launched into a 90 minute 4 way call to get my long time friend started in biz with me/us.  There was a tear in my eye as I considered how important this was to me, and would be to him (and his family).

You see Network Marketing is about people and relationships.  Managing organizations, not all about sales.  Once you have the Five Pillars with your biz all together it is time to get to work.  If you are blessed enough to get to bring very good friends (and wives) along for the ride, well, that is the icing on the cake.

With Zrii, we have all that, and more it seems.

I wish you all luck and abundance.  I would like to help you reach your dreams in life: finances, time with the ones you love, maybe 18 holes a day,  fix up that car, go to Cabo, what ever they are.

My friend wants for his son and daughter to go to fine colleges, and wants to watch them at their martial arts competition, at graduation, when they come home at night.  His son is studying the Bible and will want to get baptized soon.  Some times work gets in the way of all that stuff.

But that is why we do THIS…..rrrrrrrrrrrick
